Community Asks & Offers

Need support from the community (mentorship, looking for a job, connections)? Have resources to provide to the community (mentorship, office hours, connections)?

We always provide time for the community to Ask for the things they need or Offer the resources they have available during our Community Asks & Offers!

Thank You to Dalhousie University!

Dalhousie University, a vibrant public research institution in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was founded in 1818. Serving over 20,000 students across multiple campuses, Dalhousie offers more than 200 programs spanning 13 faculties, including computer science, engineering, arts, and health sciences.

The Faculty of Computer Science launched WeAreAllCS to advance diversity in tech—supporting women, non-binary, racialized, and queer students. In 2024, Dalhousie co-hosted the Women in Tech Summit, creating safe, empowering spaces for mentorship and networking. Through Dal Innovates, the university also supported Halifax’s first QT Connect Meetup, building inclusive career pathways for queer professionals in tech.

Dalhousie stands at the intersection of academic excellence and equity, offering meaningful support for queer and trans students while actively working to break down barriers in STEM. From gender-affirming healthcare to community-driven initiatives, Dal is committed to ensuring all students feel welcome, valued, and empowered.

QT Connect Q3 Meetup is a part of Dal Innovation Week, a celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation at Dalhousie University September 19-26. For more events visit dalinnovationweek.ca
