About

The Institute for Data Valorisation brings together 1,450 scientists (researchers, post-docs, and research officers) focused on optimization (operations research) and data science in various fields, including statistics, deep learning, applied mathematics, data mining, and cybersecurity. The Institute seeks to bridge academic expertise and business needs for all types of organizations from multinationals to start-ups and has assembled a multidisciplinary team of professionals to create these links. The IVADO relies on its academic and industrial members to carry out its mission. The Institute’s founding industrial members are Hydro-Québec, CAE, Cogeco, and Gaz Metro. Its founding academic members are GERAD, CIRRELT, MILA, the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research (Université de Montréal), the Department of Mathematical and Industrial Engineering (Polytechnique Montréal), and the Department of Decision Sciences (HEC Montréal).
