This QT AI self-assessment tool is designed to help AI product developers build systems that are inclusive, fair, and accountable, especially regarding gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.

Why use this tool?

Inclusive design is not only ethical — it strengthens innovation, trust, and adoption. The purpose of the tool is to empower developers to create AI products that:

  • Reach everyone: Work for the widest possible customer base without alienating communities (e.g. a translation tool that supports gender-neutral pronouns).

  • Are fair and safe: Avoid unintended harms from biased data sets (e.g. an applicant tracking system that favors certain hobbies linked to gender stereotypes).
  • Align with principles: Reflect responsible AI practices and reject pseudoscience and/or discriminatory applications (e.g. harmful models claiming to classify faces by sexual orientation).

    Who should use this tool?

    This beta version is designed for AI product developers and is organized into 4 sections:

    The tool can be used individually or as a team. Even if you are not the final decision maker, completing this assessment will help you understand how your organization is embedding inclusion and fairness across the AI lifecycle.

    How long will it take?

    The self-assessment takes about 5–10 minutes. At the end, you’ll receive a report highlighting:

    • Your organization’s maturity score with regards to inclusive AI product development
    • Actionable recommendations to align with QT AI’s high standards for inclusive and trustworthy AI

    You’ll also receive a worksheet to guide deeper team discussions.

    Data collection & privacy

    We are collecting responses to better understand the AI development landscape and to continually improve this tool and the trainings we offer. This tool does not collect any personal or sensitive data. Only QueerTech will have access to your individual response, which is anonymous and will be securely stored. QueerTech will only report summaries of the responses consolidated based on defined categories.
